Though housed in the school of nursing, the group, with the acronymn PUSH standing for "Penn Understanding Sexuality in Healthcare", welcomes any and all interested students and faculty from across the different schools at Penn, whether LGBT or Allies--particularly those entering the healthcare profession.
PATH
PATH -- Penn's Athletes & Allies Tackling Homophobia -- is a task force that was started to address the mutual concerns of Penn's LGBT and Athletic communities. By encouraging a dialogue between the groups, we hope to create a safe environment for athletes, coaches, administrators, and fans of all sexual orientations and gender identities. As a group, we also hope to provide resources for those in the athletic community who wish to come out, and for heterosexual athletes and coaches to receive accurate information about LGBT issues.
Queer and Christian is not a paradox. Thus, Queer Christian Fellowship (QCF) is a group dedicated to examining intersections of faith and sexuality. Join us biweekly for great conversation and free home-cooked meals! Our dinners are informal and we often invite special guests such as openly gay ministers, scholars, and community members. Aside from dinners, QCF has also been involved with events such as an interfaith panel discussion about sexuality and religion, movie screenings, and discussions with Penn Newman (Penn's Catholic ministry). Undergraduates, graduates, and students of any university are welcome to attend QCF's events.
QPOC
Queer People of Color (QPOC) is an undergraduate and graduate student group that seeks to address issues of mutual exclusivity between the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community and the people of color communities at Penn by providing support for individuals who belong to both communities and by creating an environment conducive to the discussion of related topics at Penn. We hold speaker events, movie screenings, discussions, and a number of other events in conjunction with a diverse array of groups througout the University.
The Queer Student Alliance at the University of Pennsylvania is a group of undergraduate students who identify as or are supportive of gender identity or sexual minorities. The Queer Student Alliance stives to support these communities through facilitating social and community-oriented activities. It provides and advocates for a safe space where students can feel free to be who they are, to freely express their gender and sexual identity and receive support from other students.
