Midterms aren’t here yet for most of us, so get your fill of gay events while you still have the time! Also, QPenn may seem far off, but the planning efforts are underway right now, so get involved! If you’d like to be in the drag show, an application to perform is attached, and submissions to the QPenn supplement are due on February 28.

QPenn General Body Meeting
Date: Monday, February 23 (TODAY!!)
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: LGBT Center
QPenn is right
around the corner, and now is the time to get involved! Every group is
participating in some way, so you should be at this meeting to help
finalize the week’s schedule. Also, for the creative and funny, we will be
brainstorming for the supplement’s Penn Kinsey scale (how gay are certain
things at Penn?) and any other fun/interactive features we can think of.
Allies Study Break

National Security Agency – Information Session & Networking Event

Who’s Sexy: Plastic Surgery
and Racial Biyuty

This week is OHE's Body Image week, and when looking at body image a discussion
of plastic surgery always comes up. But how does plastic surgery vary
across races and ethnicities, and what are some of the implications of these
differences? For instance, why is it that one of the most common cosmetic
surgical procedures for Asians and Asian Americans double eyelid surgery?
Join QPOC during our next GBM where we'll look at these and other important
questions. To guide our discussion we'll have clips from the Korean movie 200
Pounds Beauty, the Tyra Banks show, and information from the American
Association of Plastic Surgery.
And, of course, there will be snacks!
QCF Dinner with Soulforce

Join us for discussion over FREE home-cooked dinner with Soulforce. The purpose
of Soulforce is freedom for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people from
religious and political oppression through the practice of relentless
nonviolent resistance.

That Drag: QPenn 2009 Drag Show!!!
Fellow dragsters! This is your last chance to get involved with this
year's drag show! The show will be Friday, March 27th, 7pm, so we really need
an idea of who wants to take part. It's going to be a fun event, so get
involved! Attached is an Act Proposal Form, which will only take two minutes to
fill out. Let us know your name(s), the song you would like to perform, and a
quick description of what you want in your dance. Send it to Phil Shecter (shecter@sas.upenn.edu)

Submit to the QPenn Supplement!
Calling all writers, artists, and creative minds of all sorts. February is the month to submit your queer-related writing, art, or design skill to the creation of the QPenn supplement. We are looking for pieces of all variety, whether it be political, personal, humorous, or a fun feature on an aspect of gay culture at Penn or in Philadelphia. Artists, photographers, or those with graphic design skills are also encouraged to contribute. If you’re interested, email paullr@sas.upenn.edu, and I will put you on the email list. Even if you don’t have a specific idea, I have a lot and am happy to work with you in developing a piece. Deadline: February 28
Volunteer for Foyer of Philadelphia
Foyer of Philadelphia
(www.foyerofphiladelphia.org) is a new non-profit initiative seeking to provide
transitional housing for LGBTQ youth who are homeless and/or aging out of
foster care. Two youth have expressed an interest in studying for their SATs
and are willing to commit two hours a week once a week to a tutoring session.
