So I decided to send out one last newsletter before the semester ended, announcing the new board, and listing the culminating events for this semester. Good luck studying for finals, writing papers, or just enjoying reading week.

QSA-QPOC Study Break

Location: LGBT Center, 3907 Spruce St.

QSA and QPOC will be co-sponsoring a finals study break next Sunday evening in the LGBT Center.  Come take a breather from cramming for finals and enjoy some food, drinks, and games!  Good luck with finals, and we hope to see you there.


Jonathan Lax Scholarship for Gay Men – Information Session

Date: Monday, Dec 8

Time: 4:00pm

Location: LGBT Center, 3907 Spruce St.

The Lax Scholarship is granted by the Bread and Roses Foundation in Philadelphia to openly gay men who are pursuing a higher education degree and making a difference in their community. Tuition scholarships up to $20,000 will be awarded for the 2009-2010 school year. The information session will be conducted by Christian Myers, the Lax Scholarship Intern and a senior at the University of Pennsylvania.  Derek Brocklehurst, Nu ’09, current Lax Scholar, will also be present.  Light refreshments will be provided.

 

The Lax Scholarship has been awarded to at least one Penn student every year since its inception in 1995. This event will be a great opportunity to learn details about the scholarship and to speak directly with someone about how to submit a successful application. QUEST Board Elections

QUEST will be holding elections for its 2008-2009 Executive Board on Monday, December 8th at 7:00PM at the LGBT Center (3907 Spruce Street). The positions available include: Two Executive Co-Chairs (one of which must be from the engineering school), Finance Chair, Social Chair, Diversity Recruiting Chair, Professional Outreach Chair, and Communications Chair. Please see the attached constitution for more information on those positions specifically and the jobs and requirements that each position entails.  If you have ideas for the future of QUEST or are interested in getting more involved, you should consider running for a position! PATH (Penn Athletes and Allies Tackling Homophobia and Heterosexism) Study Break Holiday Party

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but PATH promises our first holiday party will be delightful! Join us for FREE FOOD (Hot Pizza and Cookie Decorating!!)....PLUS and a holiday movie while taking a break from the monotony of studying :)

Positions available at the Daily Pennsylvanian

My name is Alyssa Schwenk, and I'm the editorial page editor at The Daily Pennsylvanian. We're looking for witty, creative, and dedicated people to author weekly or bi-weekly print columns and to pen weekly cartoons for one of the nation's best and most widely read college newspaper.
