QPOC Meeting: DIVAs as Role Models?

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 6

Time: 8:00 p.m.

Place: LGBT Center

Beyonce, Gaga, RuPaul, Aretha, Diana... whether they're today's newcomers or the timeless icons, divas are an inextricable part of queer life for many Queer People of Color.  We have been divas, taught divas, and learned from them as well. Join QPOC for a meeting focusing on how the concept of the "diva" informs parts of our subculture.  What draws us to images of the diva and how do performances of diva conspire to empower and restrict us all at the same time?  With some of the most diva music and diva friends, we can guarantee great discussion and a lot of fun.  Feel free to come as DIVA-ed out as you like!
